Big Island is the largest of the Hawaiian Islands. It is larger than all of the other islands combined.It has 5 volcanoes, black-lava deserts, tropical rainforests, waterfalls and white, black or green-sand beaches.
The Hawaiian alphabet has only 12 letters. We learned just 2 words: "mahalo= thank you and "aloha" = hello."
Other words may be harder:"humunukunukuapua'a" is a fish type.
Ancient lawbreakers could escape the death penalties if they reached "The Place of Refuge" (Pu'uhonua O Honaunau).
